Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Open the Device

Power off the iPhone and remove the two Pentalobe screws at the bottom. Heat the screen edges to soften the adhesive, then use a suction cup and opening pick to carefully slice through the seal and lift the display.
2

Disconnect the Screen Assembly

Open the display like a book. Remove the three Y000 screws securing the connector cover. Disconnect the battery flex cable first, followed by the display flex cable, then completely separate the screen assembly from the phone body.
3

Remove the Proximity Sensor Flex Cable

On the back of the display, remove the three Phillips screws securing the sensor assembly. Apply heat to the top front edge of the screen to loosen the adhesive. Use a spudger to gently pry up the microphone and the proximity sensor module from their recesses, then carefully remove the entire flex cable assembly.
4

Install New Cable & Reassemble

Position the new proximity sensor flex cable into the display and secure it with the screws. Reconnect the display and battery cables to the logic board, reinstall the bracket, and press the screen back into place to seal the device.
